Laurence has an undergraduate degree from the University of Sydney with a double major in Computer Science and Mathematical Statistics. He also obtained an MBA degree from the Australian Graduate School of Management.

His professional skills and areas of expertise include business development and management, project management and implementation and the improvement and development of all kinds of organisations, including marketing and managing change processes. He is an accredited trainer of SPIN^® Selling Skills and also conducts other training programmes and consultancy.

Laurence had a 25 year career in the IT profession. Since 1991 he has been designing, developing and delivering training programmes. Through his many years' work in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Australia, China and more than a dozen countries in Asia Pacific, he has very rich experience in business and management, covering different environments and cultures.
